With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Averette Simpson Jr. of Prospect, Virginia, born in Farmville, Virginia, who passed away on January 22, 2021 at the age of 81. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his parents, Ward Simpson and Ruth Kelsey Simpson; and his siblings, Daniel Simpson and Doyne Simpson. He is survived by: his wife Mary K Simpson; his daughter-in-law Dianne Simpson Garrett (Doyne); his children, David Simpson (Robyn) of Prospect, Derek Simpson (Rebecca) of Prospect, Alisa LeSueur (Richard) of Prospect, Amy Wynne (Jason) of Buckingham, Joshua Simpson (Kelly) of Moncks Corner, SC. and Ruth Simpson of Prospect; and his sister Susan Shirley (Bill). He is also survived by many grandchildren and great grandchildren.
