He was predeceased by: his mother Ekaterini Paspalari Skordas; and his brother Tryphon Groumbas. He is survived by: his wife Katerina Skordas; his sons, Kostas Skordas of Washington, DC, George Skordas of Prince George, VA and Thomas Skordas; his grandchildren, Christopher and Olivia; his daughter-in-law Angela Mitchell of Fairfax, VA.; his brother Thomas Skordas of Petersburg, VA; his nephew Constantine Groumbas of Richmond, VA.; his sister Toula Trasteli; his brother-in-law Kosta Trasteli; and his nieces, Athina Trasteli and Katerina Trasteli. He is also survived by several other relatives including sisters-in-law, a brother-in-law, and numerous nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St. Elpis Greek Orthodox Church or the National Kidney Foundation.
