It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Shirley Courtney Reynolds (Powhatan, Virginia), born in Chatham, Virginia, who passed away on April 2, 2020, at the age of 92, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Silas Clifton and Rebecca L. Reynolds. He is survived by: his wife Martha Louise Dabney; his sons, Dabney (Anne) and Stuart (Judy); his grandchildren, Courtney Reynolds, Melissa Gregory (Brian), Lindsey Davis (Sean) and Katie Easter (Kevin); and his stepgrandchildren, Traci Whitley (Chris), Donnie Catogni (Liz) and Josh Catogni. He is also survived by four great-grand daughters and four great-grandsons.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions be made to the Virginia State Police Association C/O Trooper Emergency Relief Fund, 6944 Forest Hill Avenue, Richmond, VA. 23225.

“We are so sorry to learn of Mr. Reynolds’ death. To his family we offer our deepest sympathy and prayers. We will always remember him as the kind Trooper who gave us a speeding ticket when we were having our house built in Kimberley Farms. (Only ticket my husband ever got where he thanked the officer.). Then he became our Sheriff. The BEST! We salute you sir. Rest In Peace.”
