He was predeceased by: his parents, Harvey S. Reams, Sr. and Myra Reams; his sons, Raymond Reams and William Reams; and his brothers, Harvey, James and Nick Reams.

He is survived by: his children, Richard D. "Rick" Reams, Jr. and Myra Ellen Reams; his siblings, Alex Reams and Eva Gregory; and his close friend Dorothy Saunders. He is also survived by nine grandchildren, twelve great grandchildren.
