She was predeceased by: her parents, James Clifton Walk and Edna Anne Dunford of Henrico; her close friend Joe Hall; her brothers, Barry Walk and Jimmy Walk; and her son James Lee Thompson.
She is survived by: her sister Angie Walk; and her children, Roxanne Hammonds (Alvin Hammonds), Gerald Thompson (Sherry Thompson), Robbie Thompson (Vickie Thompson), Faith Garrett (Tony Garrett), Amy Dixon (David Dunivan), Charlene Bryant (Dana Bryant), Teresa Hammonds Rebecca (John Woody) and Oscar Hammonds Jr. (Chele Lucas). She is also survived by twenty eight grandchildren and five great grandchildren.
