She was predeceased by: her mother Merit Newton of Virginia; her stepfather Lester B. Newton; and her aunts, Betty Jane Moore and Hazel Irene Grass. She is survived by: her husband Arlie D. Thomas; her daughters, Staci R. Thomas and Megan P. Ford (Jeremy); her grandsons, Alexander D. Dougherty, Andrew B. Dougherty and Aiden J. Ford; and her half-siblings, Demetria A. McCrea of Cuyahoga Falls and Gary D. Botkins of Greenwood, IN.. She is also survived by many cousins.
Memorial donations may be made to the Pauley Heart Center at VCU Health or May Memorial Baptist Church, if preferred.
