He was predeceased by: his parents, Nelson Harkins and Ruthie Harkins; his uncle Charles; his aunt Leola Franklin; and his cousins, Bertie Wood (Shirley) and Henry Franklin (Janie).

He is survived by: his sisters, Susan Brame (Mike) and Anita Proffitt (Robbie); and his cousins, Joe Franklin (Pat), Kenneth Franklin (Jean) and Albert Franklin (Sherry). He is also survived by many nieces and nephews, cousins, and friends.
