He was loved and cherished by many people including: his wife Nancy B. Gardner; his children, Suzanne Gardner Cline (Aaron) of Powhatan and John Samuel Gardner, II; his grandchildren, Alexander Conrad Hull (Allison), Abigail Allyn (Christopher), Sara Caroline, Kelsey Madison (Miles) and John Samuel, III; and his great grandchild Reagan Templeton.
