He was predeceased by: his son William Thomas Tilman. He is survived by: his wife Dorothy Henshaw Tilman; his children, Edward R. Tilman, Jr. (Connie) and Dorothy Gail Tilman (Jim Wolf); his sister Bessie T. Hosford; his grandchildren, Amy T. Ellett, William T. Arrington (Joann) and Charles Newton (Abby); and his great grandchildren, William Hunter Arrington and Thomas Newton.
