He was predeceased by: his parents, John Hersety Cole and Willard Emiline Nelson Cole; his siblings, Gladie Janell Elswick, Juanita Alva Crawford, Virginia Mae Cole and Donald Lee Cole; and his son-in-law Jeffery Coy Horn.
He is survived by: his wife Ella Jean Cole of Pounding Mill, VA; his children, Debra Wilburn (Keith), Sherry Horn of Pounding Mill, VA and Bruce Cole (Sharon) of Cedar Bluff, VA; his brothers, George H. Cole (Nona) and Homer H. Cole (Joan) of Bearwallow, VA.; his close friend Ed Lester; his grandchildren, Juliann Dales, Rebecca Wilburn, Jordyn Cole, Kayla Doud, Cody Wilburn and Jacob Cole; and his great grandchildren, Charleigh Dales and Raleigh Dales.
