He was predeceased by: his parents, James Earl and Cora Alice Caywood Elswick; his wife Gladie Elswick; his son Jackie Lee Elswick; his son-in-law John Graham; his grandchild Jamie Lynn Elswick; and his siblings, Barbara Sue Whitt, Juanita Keith, Gene Elswick, Charles Elswick and Doug Elswick.
He is survived by: his daughters, Joanne Emiline Bumgarner (Bill) of Richlands, VA, Eunice Marie Graham of Burkes Garden, VA, Elizabeth Jane Elswick, Sarah Elizabeth Cooke (Jimmie Aaron) of Gratton, VA and Hannah Janell Elswick Rosario of Sevierville, TN; his brother Paul Elswick (Linda) of Rosedale, Virginia; and his grandson Rodney D. Whited, II (Melissa) of Horsepen, VA.. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives, and many friends.
