He was predeceased by: his parents, Irving Walter Matney and Hazel Lucille Elliott Matney; and his brothers, Doug Matney and Donald Matney. He is survived by: his wife Carolyn Smith Matney; and his children, Brad Matney (Lynn) of Jewell Ridge, VA and Gina Pruitt (Tony) of Tazewell, VA.
Visitation was held on Tuesday, November 12th 2024 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Cliffield Church of Christ (345 Earl's Br Rd, Pounding Mill, VA 24637). A funeral service was held on Tuesday, November 12th 2024 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
