It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Richard Kay Hurt of Pound, Virginia, who passed away on February 6, 2022, at the age of 75, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his wife Shelby Carter Hurt of Norton, VA; his parents, Blanche Hurt and Arvil Hurt; and his siblings, Don Hurt, Savannah Austin, Ilene Boggs, Ann Austin and Virgie Schuitema.
He is survived by: his children, Veronica Fleming and Michael Hurt (Sally); his grandchildren, Megan Hurt, Ryan Davis, Loudon Hurt, Patrick Hurt and William Hurt; his great grandchildren, Carter Davis, Maverick Davis, Dallas Davis and Odyn Davis; and his brothers, James Hurt and Robert Hurt. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and friends.
