He is survived by: his wife Zelma Minor Harper; his children, Christine Hyman (George), Steve Minor (Edna) of Williamston and Reginald Harper (Mary) of Holly Springs; his stepsons, Carl Daley (Monica) of Washington, Roy Daley (Charlene) of Washington and Earl Daley (Debbie) of Washington; his siblings, Dr. Mary Harper Watkins (Walter), Christine Kenlock, Josephine Harper and James Henry Harper (Linda); and his cousins, Wilma Harper Horne of Chesapeake, Carolyn Harper Faulks of Chesapeake, Virgina, Jackie Harper Matthews and Elvira Harper Johnson of Portsmouth, Virginia.. He is also survived by grandchildren, many nieces, nephews.
