With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Valecia Shavelle Avery (Portsmouth, Virginia), who passed away on November 12, 2024 at the age of 55. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
As Valecia Shavelle departs from our midst, her spirit ascends to join the cosmic dance of stars, a shimmering constellation of memories that will forever grace the night sky of the hearts of those who loved Valecia Shavelle. Though Valecia Shavelle may no longer walk beside us, her legacy lives on — a testament to the enduring power of love to transcend the boundaries of time and space.
She is survived by: her children, Corey Avery, Jervonte Avery, Trevon Avery, Alecia Avery and Takiera Avery; and her siblings, Carmen Avery of Virginia Beach, VA, Tonja White and Christopher Avery. She is also survived by nephews, nieces, cousins, and friends.
Viewing was held on Tuesday, November 19th 2024 from 2:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the Metropolitan Funeral Service (5605 Portsmouth Blvd, Portsmouth, VA 23701). A celebration of life was held on Wednesday, November 20th 2024 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
