She was predeceased by: her parents, Velma Bonney Mayes and Samuel Lee Newton; her grandparents, Gladys, Clifton Thorne, Luether and Linwood Fennell; her aunts and uncles, Vernon Thorne, Odell Batten, Thomas Lee Thorne, John Thorne, Ernest Thorne, Clifton Thorne, Jr., Jeanette Cannon, Phyllis Thomas and Mary Wilson; and also Larry Thorne.
She is survived by: her children, Shannon Thorne-Brackett, Lawrence Joseph Thorne, George Arthur Brockman, Jr. and Shawvone Nicole Brockman; and her siblings, Glinda Villaverde, Amos Antonio Bonney and Minister Stephanie Bonney-Williams (Min). She is also survived by her beautiful grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
In addition, she faithfully served as an active member of the Dunedin Civic League, Inc. where she made significant contributions to improve the community.
