With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Richard M. Dozier in Portsmouth, Virginia, who passed away on January 9, 2025 at the age of 78. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Melvin O. Dozier Sr. and Ruby Hall Dozier; and his brothers, Donald W. Dozier, Robert L. Dozier and Melvin O. Dozier Jr. (Buddy).
He is survived by: his wife Janice Kochur Dozier; his son Richard Brian Dozier (Beth) of Virginia Beach; his granddaughter Alexis L. Dozier of Virginia Beach; his siblings, Ronald W. Dozier (Carolyn) of Virginia Beach and Carolyn Dozier Cotterell of Norfolk, VA; his half-sister Dorothy Mullins of Portsmouth, VA; his brother-in-law John Kochur (Minnie); and his aunts, Betty Hall Crabtree of Chesapeake and Fay Stevenson of Chesapeake. He is also survived by many nieces; nephews; great nieces; great nephews; and cousins.
Visitation was held on Monday, January 13th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Bayside Chapel (1457 Independence Blvd, Virginia Beach, VA 23455). A funeral service was held on Tuesday, January 14th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
