He was predeceased by: his parents, Lynwood Spruill and Sallie P. Spruill; his former wife Rachel L. Raby-Spruill; his wife Norma Spruill; his children, Mamie Spruill, Maurice Spruill (Joyce) and LaTonya Brown-Davis; and his siblings, Odelia Allen, Sarah Boone, James Spruill, William Spruill, Cleveland Spruill and Albert Spruill.
He is survived by: his children, Lynnell T. Spruill, Tyrone Spruill (Barbara) and Craig Brown (Angela). He is also survived by grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, family and friends.
