It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Louise Gamble King of Portsmouth, Virginia, born in Kingstree, South Carolina, who passed away on November 11, 2024, at the age of 88, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Alease Scott Gamble and Joe E. Gamble; her son Louis "Lil'Jack" King; and her siblings, Rosa Lee Barnes, Joe E. Gamble and Samuel Gamble.
She is survived by: her children, Anthony Gamble (Katrina), Alton King, Tarance King, Gregory King, Janet King Hodges (Dwayne), Barbara Bagner, Cindy Richards and Leticia King; her grandson Cory Wiggins; and her siblings, James Gamble, Alfred Gamble and Francine Riddick. She is also survived by 15 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, 2 great-great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Visitation was held on Thursday, November 21st 2024 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the T. E. Cooke-Overton Funeral Home (405 Johnson Ave, Suffolk, VA 23434). A funeral service was held on Thursday, November 21st 2024 at 12:00 PM at the same location. A burial was held on Thursday, November 21st 2024 at the Carver Memorial Cemetery (2320 E Washington St, Suffolk, VA 23434).
