She was predeceased by: her parents, Willie Alonzo Hanks and Susie Martin Hanks; her husband Augustus Cartos; her brothers, Lee, Kenny, James and Lester Hanks; and her grandson Nicholas Ian Frank.
She is survived by: her sisters, Barbara Keysacker, Carolyn McPeake and Betty Smith; her children, Robert Williamson, Melanie Harris and Denn Alaric (Julia); and her grandchildren, Shannon Wolfe (Bennie), James Adkins, April Parrish, Maeve, Oden and Thora Alaric. She is also survived by seven great grandchildren.
