He was predeceased by: his parents, John Bowers and Lucy Bowers; his siblings, Mary Lois Pendley, Sarah Caroline White, John C. Bowers, Jr., Carl Edward Bowers and Raymond Lee Bowers, Sr.; his grandson Jason Alan Green; and his pet Sparky.
He is survived by: his wife Patricia J. Bowers; his children, Charlene Bowers Yacklon (David) and Richard Coleman "Ricky" Bowers (Lynn); his grandchildren, Shawn Coleman Bowers, Amber Lynn Bowers, Wesley Stivers and Dayce Gordon; his nieces, Gerri Lou Sisler and Amy Turner Machetti; and his nephew Ronald Alan Turner.
Viewing was held on Wednesday, April 9th 2025 from 5:30 PM to 6:30 PM at the Portsmouth Boulevard Chapel (5201 Portsmouth Blvd, Portsmouth, VA 23701). A funeral service was held on Thursday, April 10th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Living Waters Christian Fellowship, Gideons International or Dozoretz Hospice House of Hampton Roads.
