It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Norman Norwood Southerly of Port Republic, Virginia, who passed away on September 23, 2024, at the age of 86, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Walter Southerly and Bertha Southerly; and his siblings, Floyd, James, Lewis Southerly, Louise Sites, Helen Kersey, Rosalie Shipp and Vicky Riggles.
He is survived by: his wife Mary Yancey Southerly; his children, Tom Southerly (Dawn) of Clear Brook, VA, Rick Southerly (Stephanie) of Harrisonburg, VA, Pam Sheets (W. C.) of Midlothian, VA, Andy Southerly (Gay) of Midlothian, VA and Cindy Morgan of Port Republic, VA; his grandchildren, Caitlin Southerly, Patrick Southerly (Brandy), Brittany McKee (Corbin), Clayton Southerly (Javier), Maci Southerly, Andrew Morgan and William Morgan; his great grandchild Sophie McKee; and his siblings, Theodore Southerly (Rosa) of Sumpter, SC, Woodrow Southerly (Carolyn) of Harrisonburg, VA and Margie Southerly of Crimora, VA. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
