It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Joesph Leon Nicosia Sr. of Poquoson, Virginia, who passed away on March 4, 2023, at the age of 56, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his son Joseph Leon Nicosia, Jr.; his father Joseph Anthony Nicosia, Jr.; and his grandparents, Leon Ambrose Blount, Jr., Mary Avis Rollins Jones, Joseph Anthony Nicosia, Sr. and Katherine Holloway Nicosia.

He is survived by: his daughter Mary Jane Nicosia; his mother Jean Merriel Blount; his sister Bonnie Nicosia King; his niece Samantha Katherine King; his grandmother Mary Ellen Blount; his aunt Stephanie Jane Stockum (Bob); his uncle Timothy Wayne Blount (Cathy); and his partner Shannon Marie Bryant.

In lieu of flowers the family has asked that memorial contributions be made to Claytor Rollins Funeral Home.
