James E. Duty Obituary
With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of James E. Duty (Poquoson, Virginia), born in Grundy, Virginia, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on January 5, 2025 at the age of 83. He was predeceased by: his parents, Ira Elliott Duty and Stella Belcher Duty. He is survived by: his wife Betty Insley Duty; his siblings, Mildred Trout, Charles R. Duty, Sr. and Janice Sue Harrison; his sons, Elliott Duty (Susan) and Jason Duty (Julie); his grandchildren, Megan Jones (Clayton), Jordan Duty, Sydney Duty, Joshua Hollingsworth (Aggie), Jake Hollingsworth (Sarah) and Justin Hollingsworth (Kim); his great grandchildren, Taylor, Hannah, Madyson, Lucian, Calvin, Asher, Jones, Nell and Wren; his siblings, Clarence E. Duty, Ira E. Duty, Jr. (Joann) and Millie Clevinger; and his siblings-in-law, Lorraine Horn Duty and Michael Harrison. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Poquoson Volunteer Rescue Squad, the Messick Cemetery Association, or the Poquoson Athletic Department.
