He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Gatewood Gardy and Barbara Royals Gardy; his wife Melissa Forrest; his daughter Kaitlyn; his son-in-law Robert Weathers; his brother David Gardy; his sisters-in-law, Marcia Gardy and Elaine Forrest Van Dervort; his nieces, Catherine Van Dervort Holloway (Troy Holloway), Jennifer VanDervort Bostain (Robert Bennett) and Katie Gardy (Connor Delaney); his great-nieces and great-nephews, Julia Bostain, Daniel Bostain, Robbie Holloway, Sarah Holloway, Evelynn Delaney and Kehlani Delaney; and his grandson Forrest Keller Weathers.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Trinity United Methodist Church or Poquoson Animal Welfare Sanctuary.
