It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Gene Walter Adkins of Pocahontas, Virginia, who passed away on October 28, 2020, at the age of 89, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Perry Adkins and Lora Coleman Adkins; his former wife Judy Adkins; and his siblings, Leeman, Fon, Raymond Adkins, Justine, Betty, June and Eunice.
He is survived by: his children, Connie Marcum of Huntington, WV, Bonnie McGonigle of Columbus, OH, Wally Adkins (Velvie) of Pocahontas, VA and Ronald Adkins (Elizabeth) of Chilhowie, VA; and his sister Mary Fields of Pikeville, KY. He is also survived by twelve grandchildren and twenty great grandchildren.
