She was predeceased by: her parents, Gary Blair and Victoria Shelton Blair; her husband John Ray Mahan; her children, Otis Melvin Mahan and Joyce Crider; her great grandchild Kevin Andrew Crider; her sons-in-law, Mickey Crider and E. "Pat" Mease; and her siblings, Hassel Byrd, Larry Blair, Edith Irby, Wyatt Blair, Robert Blair, Lois Harrison and Eloise Bryant.
She is survived by: her children, Leland (Cecelia) and Janet; her children-in-law, Tom Gaumes and Robin Mahan; her grandchildren, Eric Mahan, Kevin Crider (Jennifer), Sonya Wilson (Anthony), Stan Mahan (Diane), Karen Mahan, Shannon Mahan and Stuart Mease (Allison); her great grandchildren, Dustin Mahan, Matthew Crider (Allie), Sarah Crider, Julia Crider, Caroline Mease and Anderson Mease; and her great great grandchild Charlotte Lorraine Crider. She is also survived by nephews, nieces and cousins.
She survived a tornado alone while in her home at the age of 90, and two pandemics being conceived at the end of the Spanish Flu and overcoming three bouts of Covid.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a charity of choice in Virginia's memory.
