She was predeceased by: her parents, Zack Monroe Tuck and Maxie Mauld Neal Tuck; her husband Anderson Jackson "AJ" Hines; her daughter Jo Ann Betterton; her grandsons, Joey Brumfield and Lafe McCluster; and her siblings, George Tuck, Calvin Tuck, Thomas Tuck, Monroe Fox, Annie Tucker, Elsie Tuck and Hazel McDaniel.
She is survived by: her children, Wayne Hines (Juanita) of Hurt, Tim Hines (Tracey) of Chatham, Donald Hines of Gretna, Ronald Hines (Angie) of Gretna, Linda Goad of Lynchburg, Doris Brumfield (Andy) of Pittsville and Sheila McCluster (Ronnie) of Gretna; her stepdaughter Brenda Clay of Chatham; her niece Hazel Tuck of Gretna; and also Jesse Tate of Winston Salem, NC. She is also survived by 19 grandchildren, 37 great-grandchildren and 4 great-great-grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Sunday, December 29th 2024 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Colbert-Moran Funeral Home, Inc. (307 Main St, Gretna, VA 24557). A funeral service was held on Monday, December 30th 2024 at 2:00 PM at the Summersett Baptist Church (3773 Bibee Rd, Pittsville, VA 24139). A burial was held on Monday, December 30th 2024 at the Summersett Baptist Church Cemetery (3773 Bibee Rd, Pittsville, VA 24139).
