She was predeceased by: her parents, Millard Poff and Ruby Poff; her son Jack Thurston; and her grandson Michael Thurston. She is survived by: her children, Gary Thurston (Brandy), Mark Thurston (Angela) and Pamela Sowers; her brothers, Millard "Junior" Poff (Frances) and Herbert "Buddy" Poff (Shirley); and also James W. Sowers. She is also survived by thirteen grandchildren, numerous great-grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Tuesday, March 18th 2025 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Gardner Funeral Home (202 E Oxford St, Floyd, VA 24091). A funeral service was held on Wednesday, March 19th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
