He was predeceased by: his parents, Samuel Harvey Ward and Lola Horn Ward; and his sister Janie Gearldine Ward. He is survived by: his wife Berchie Ward of Pilgrims Knob, VA; his daughter Ashley Hackney (Steve) of Pilgrims Knob, VA; his siblings, Anna Ruth Ward of Richlands, VA and David Ward (Ellen) of Tarpon Springs, FL.; his godson Alex Lockhart of Radford, VA; and his grandchild Harley. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews.
The family will receive friends at the Shortridge-Ramey Funeral Home Chapel of Keen Mountain, VA, Tuesday, November 2, 2021 after 6:00 p. m. with evening service to be held at 7:00 p. m. In observance of COVID-19 restrictions, social distancing will be observed, and the wearing of masks is required for attendance.
