He is survived by: his siblings, Emma Walden Shands, Alice Mae Shands of Hopewell, Brenda Carter (Melvin) of Dinwiddie, Francine Tatum (Joseph) of Newport News, Darlene Shands of Raleigh, NC, Harold Shands of Hopewell and Tyrone Shands (Sandra) of Hopewell; his sisters-in-law, Bertha Manson of Petersburg, Carolyn Shands of Petersburg and Shirley Shands of Hopewell; and his aunt Dorothy Walden of Pittsburgh, PA. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
