He was predeceased by: his mother Annie Bell Graves; his grandparents, Matthew and Marie Graves; his aunts and uncles, Vernell Pulliam, Louise Taylor, Ethel Bryant, Marie Greene, Gladys Mason, Irene Bonner, Samuel and Robert Graves; and his nephew Carlton Starling.
He is survived by: his sisters, Alice V. Starling of Laurel, MD and Annie G. McKinnon; his nieces and nephews, Denise W. (James) of Petersburg, VA, Bridget V. Graves of Woodbridge, VA, George Whitfield, Jr. (Deborah) of South Chesterfield, VA, Milford Whitfield, Sr. (Austean) of Hampton, VA, Stevie Steverson (Kimberley) of Prince George, VA, Alonzo Starling (Nicola) of Toronto and Duawne Starling (Carmen) of Laurel, MD; and his aunts, Anne Brown, Nell Thomas of Petersburg, VA and Juanita Bland of Hopewell, VA. He is also survived by cousins and other relatives and friends.
