He was loved and cherished by many people including: his grandparents, Manning and Monen Cunningham; his former wife Lucille Christian-Turner of Alabama; his daughters, Angela Ward (Kenneth) of Birmingham, AL and Fransheria R. Cannon of Cleveland, OH; his stepdaughter Melinda Parham; his nephew Larry Riggins (Cheryl) of Petersburg; his wife Juanita Turner; his daughter Posha D. Turner; his aunt Francis Curry; and his uncle Manning Cunningham. He was also cherished by ten grandchildren, nineteen great grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren.
