He was predeceased by: his father Frank Rufus Hayes; his sister Starletta Hayes; his aunt Dorothy Brown; and his brother-in-law Kelvin Baskerville. He is survived by: his mother Jean D. Brown; his siblings, Margaret Baskerville of Petersburg, VA, Tasha Brown-Jefferson (Stuart) of Petersburg, VA, Tezerra Chatman of Petersburg, VA, Kevin Bailey of Petersburg, VA and Rufus Hayes of Petersburg, VA; his godchildren, Savion Adamson of Richmond, VA and Faith Adamson of Richmond, VA; his aunts, Annie Jackson of Petersburg, VA, Inell Green of Richmond, VA, Margaret Johnson and Shirley Ridgeway (James) of Washington, DC; and his uncle Samuel Ridley of Carson, VA. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, co-workers and friends.
His true legacy was the impact he made on everyone's life (The Sadie Brown Education Foundation).
