He was predeceased by: his wife Barbara Ann Jackson Thomas; his parents, Norman Thomas and Luberta Scott; and his brothers, William "Bill" and Seymore Thomas.
He is survived by: his daughters, Sheretta T. Pollard (Anthony) and Wanda Y. Thomas (Spencer Timberlake); his grandchildren, Ashley Pollard Mercedes (Samuel), Anthony Thomas Pollard (Nikki) and Aaron Timberlake; and his sister Mae Cabbagestalk. He is also survived by other relatives and friends.
