He was predeceased by: his parents, Ernestine R. Putney and Samuel P. Putney; and his grandparents, Henry and Mary Johnson. He is survived by: his wife Iris J. Putney; his daughters, April Putney-Johnson (Donald), Samantha Putney-Jones and Angelica Putney; his son-in-law Mark Jones, Jr.; his sons, Romeo Branch and Antoine Wiggins; his grandsons, Steven Putney and Kiyan Wiggins; his godson Ewell Dexter; his cousins, Shirley Dexter, William Pitt, Jr. and Melody Pitt; and his friends, Howard Ruffin and Claudie Grant.
