It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Ruby D. Graves Harper (Petersburg, Virginia), who passed away on January 12, 2020, at the age of 70, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Robert Graves and Queen E. Graves; and her siblings, Gracie M. Massenburg and Robert Levy Graves. She is survived by: her daughter Ruby D. Graves Harper; her aunt Yvonne; her husband William Harper III; her children, Delva Hite (Bernard), Larry Harper (Tricia), Catherine Bailey (Robert), Shenae Jones, Xavier Bailey and Nasir Bailey; her siblings, Elsie Jones, Richard Graves (Selena) and Sandra Davis (Herbert); her aunt Arlene Smith; and her siblings-in-law, Bernard Harper Sr. (Laura), Alphonia Harper (Sandra), Cornelius Harper (Angela), Jerry Richardson, Mary Anderson (Christopher) and Vern Hubbard. She is also survived by eleven nephews and eleven nieces; numerous great-nieces and nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends.
