He was predeceased by: his siblings, Alfred Woody, Joseph Woody, Albert Woody, Leroy Woody, John William Woody, Margaret Robinson, Amey Ferrel, Queen Elizabeth Coleman, Victorine Henly, Blanche Fleming, Naomi Wright, Anne Carter, Marion Randolph, Ester Carter and Luvinia Crawford; and his stepmother Virginia Woody.
He is survived by: his daughter Zena King (David Bowman); his grandson Jason King; his great grandchild Destiny Braxton; and his sister Peggy Edwards. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, and cousins.
