He was predeceased by: his parents, Walter Hewlett and Dorothy Hewlett; his brothers, Ernest Murdock, Lawrence Ragsdale and Walter "Mesherl" Hewlett; his brother-in-law David Banks; and his father-in-law John Thompson (Vivian).
He is survived by: his children, Ricky Hewlett, Jr. (Ashley), Lawrence Hewlett, Sr. (Hilina Teklu) and Christy Johnson; his grandchildren, Isaiah, Lawrence, Jr., Ta'Lajah, Brennan, Elias and Ryann; his goddaughter Charmaine Banks Winfield; his siblings, Otis "Bobcat" Hewlett, Stephen Hewlett and Dorrie Hewlett Banks; his siblings-in-law, Mary Murdock, Gloria Hewlett, Linda "Renee" Hewlett, Jeannie Hewlett, Pam Thompson Patrom and David Jones; and his aunts, Erlene and Watkins (Pearl Taylor). He is also survived by nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
