He is survived by: his wife Pattie Ann Poke Hertz; his children, Nicole Maldonado (Kenny) of East Bremerton, Rhonda Hertz Smith of Raleigh and Richard Allen Hertz, Jr. (Shannon) of Chesterfield; his grandchildren, Shaquille Houseal, Jasmine Hertz, Xavier Houseal, Simiaun Kingston, Malcolm Maldonado, Shayna Hertz, Jaydon Mekhi Smith, Francisco Maldonado and Shaniyah Hertz; his great grandchild Jaiden; his brothers, Caleb Hertz (Gloria), Rudolph Hertz (Helen) and Carl Hertz (Veronica); his mother-in-law Shirley Poke; his siblings-in-law, John Prince (Lucille), James Thomas, Sr. (Darlene), Horace Poke (Jacqueline), Cynthia Poke and Margaret Patterson (John); and his nephew James Thomas, Jr.. He is also survived by other relatives, friends.
