She was predeceased by: her parents, Wesley McCandless and Bessie L. Porter; and her husband Richard H. Dunn. She is survived by: her stepfather Wade Carter; her sons, Richard W. and Charles P. Dunn; her grandsons, Richard T. and Charles A. Dunn; and her cousin Oliver Crawford (Bonnie).

In lieu of floral arrangements, the family request that monetary donations be made to the Zion Baptist Church, 225 Byrne Street, Petersburg, VA 23803 in memory of Myrtle C. Dunn.
