He was predeceased by: his wife Grace O. "Tibby" Crowe (late PF); his children, James Smith (Denise), Cheryl Elder, Tammy Groome (Mike), Daniel "Buck" Smith, Christie Jones and Kelly Johnson; his parents, Maxie Guy Crowe, Sr. and Odessa Nillian Spain Crowe; and his sisters, Essie Davis (Lawrence) and Grace Harrison (Billy).
He is survived by: his daughters, Teresa Carol Ellis (Johnny) and Wendy Crowe Williams (Lynn); his grandsons, Shawn Thomas Ellis (Kori), Benjamin Avery Williams (Natasha) and Zachary Matthew Williams; his great grandchildren, Brylie Daxx Williams and Jake Upton Williams; his former wife Nancy Reese Echols; his great great grandchildren, Ashton Yates and Cody Jones; his cousin Thomas Davis; his caregiver Kelly Gauldin; and also, Justin Matthew Echols (Tami), Alexis and Sydney Echols.
