It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Maude B. Banks Brown (Petersburg, Virginia), who passed away on January 13, 2024, at the age of 94, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her husband Alex Henry Brown, Sr.; her parents, Maude Banks and Willie Banks; and her siblings, Charles Banks, Katie Pritchett, William Banks, Helena Thomas and Theodore Banks.
She is survived by: her son Alex Jr.; her caregiver Alex Henry Brown, Jr.; her daughters, Brenda Charlotte Banks of Colonial Heights, VA and Melanie Brown Mitchell of Suffolk, VA; her nieces and nephews, Rayner Banks of Baltimore, MD, Donald Banks of Baltimore, MD, Trina Jackson of Baltimore, MD, Jabari Shabazz (Lanny Thomas) of Dinwiddie, VA, Gregory Thomas of Waxhaw, NC, Karen T. Scott of Petersburg, VA, Gwendolyn Britt of Petersburg, VA, Kenneth Thomas of Petersburg, VA, Sharon H. Austin, Terry Harrington of South Chesterfield, VA, Neville Harrington of Petersburg, VA and Ingrid Finch of Georgia; and her friends, Joyce Scott, Carolyn Jackson and Janet Crawley. She is also survived by many other relatives and friends.
