She was predeceased by: her parents, Claude Waters and Vera B. Waters; her husband Joseph P. Pegram; her brother Curtis Waters; her grandparents, Levi and Anna Waters; and her aunts and uncles, Artis, Wallace, Willie Waters, Mamie, Idella, Elsie Peterson, Linnie of Maryland and Lillian Spearman.

She is survived by: her children, Donald Waters (Doris) of Rocky Mount, NC, Jacqueline McBride (Herrington) of Chesterfield, VA, Gary Pegram (Vanessa) of Petersburg, VA, Sharon Taylor (Gregory) of Petersburg, VA and James Pegram (Anita) of Davenport, LA; and her grandchildren, Yolanda, Donna Lynn, Luchana, Donald Jr., Bryan, Jessica, Alicia, Nathaniel, Christina, Jonathan and Janita. She is also survived by cousins, other relatives and dear friends.

She donated blood to the Red Cross on a regular basis for the past thirty-two years.
