It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Mary G. Delane (Petersburg, Virginia), who passed away on December 18, 2024, at the age of 77, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, John Graves and Virginia Graves; her grandmother Mary Goodwyn; her sister Gloria Jean Graves; and her grandsons, Tyrone Maurice Bates and Erick Ryan Bates.
She is survived by: her husband Harold F. Delane; her children, Kimberly Knight-Andrews (Joseph) of Colonial Heights, VA, Theresa A. White of Chester, VA, Jesse A. Bates, Jr. of Emporia, VA, Tanya L. Newton of Aberdeen, MD, Kevin Gardner M. Bates of Charlotte, NC, Sandy M. Nelson (Michael) of Petersburg, VA and Sir Michael C. Bates of Norfolk, VA; and her sisters, Rosa Taylor of Petersburg, VA, Louise Delane of Chesterfield, VA and Cynthia Stephenson of Petersburg, VA. She is also survived by twenty-eight grandchildren, twenty-two grandchildren and one great-great grandchildren.
A funeral service will be held on Monday, December 23rd 2024 at 11:00 AM at the Chapel of J. M. Wilkerson Funeral Establishment, Inc. (102 South Ave, Petersburg, VA 23803). A burial will be held on Monday, December 23rd 2024 at the Dinwiddie Memorial Park (7324 Church Rd, Petersburg, VA 23803).
