She was predeceased by: her mother Barbara Jean Hanks; her grandparents, Anderson, Adline Hanks and Evelyn Archer; and her godmother Dolores Shaw Tucker.
She is survived by: her father Spencer Hanks, Sr. (Ruth); her children, Sharita Burns and Tanisha Hanks; her siblings, Spencer Hanks, Jr. (Cathy), Karen Hanks-Davis, Keith Rivers (Pamela) and Victor Rivers (Tonya); her grandchildren, Ty'Quan Hanks and Immanuel Burns; and her great grandchild Katavian Ampy-Hanks. She is also survived by aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, cousins, and extended family.
