Mayes (Petersburg, Virginia), born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, who passed away on June 21, 2023, at the age of 70, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her father Harold Brown, Sr.; her husband Berkley Mayes; her siblings, Deborah Mathis, Marie Miller and Frank Brown; her stepfather Herbert Mathis; and her brother Ricky Miller.
She is survived by: her mother Leila Mae Mathis; her former husband Joseph Rhone III; her children, Joseph "Yusuf" Rhone IV and Shareen Mayes; her siblings, Harold Brown, Jr., Johnny Mathis, William Mathis, John Green, Adrianne Mathis, Regina Mathis, Patricia Mathis and Leila Mathis II; and her friends, Gayle Blake, Lois Winfield and Lucy Diggs. She is also survived by nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
