It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Leon E. Brooks Sr. of Petersburg, Virginia, who passed away on May 5, 2022, at the age of 73, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Joseph Brooks and Mary Brooks; and his sisters, Eloise Brooks Perkins and JoAnn Brooks Short. He is survived by: his wife Monica; his children, Timothy Branch, Leon E. Brooks, Jr. and Tiffany Mitchell (James); his brothers, Charles Brooks (Janina), Dennis Brooks and Anthony Brooks (Sheila); his brother-in-law Calvin Epps; his sister Joan Bond (Fred); his sisters-in-law, Beverly E. Barber and Brenda Epps; his nephew Matthew Perkins; and his friends, Ronald Branch, Lonnie Battle and Ben Bonner. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, cousins, and other relatives.
