It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Lena McKenney Powell (Petersburg, Virginia), who passed away on May 9, 2021, at the age of 101, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her husband Willie Powell; and her daughter Lois Powell Mondesire. She is survived by: her children, Wayne Powell Las Vegas (Leslie) and Mary Kathy Powell Dickson (David) of Maryland; her grandchildren, Farrah Powell of Atlanta, Dr. Wallace Mondesire, MD of Jersey City, Jennifer Powell Mondesire, Esquire of Philadelphia, Brandi Powell Ledbetter (Lateef) of Minnesota and Kristin Powell Nelson (Jessie) of Las Vegas; her great grandchildren, Braxton Berry, Deacon Nelson, Hunter Nelson, Jordan Powell Mondesire-Curry and Oaklyn Ledbetter; and also Elizabeth Irene Westbrook. She is also survived by many cousins and friends.
