She was predeceased by: her parents, Irene Wyatt and Thomas B. Jones; her husband Arthur Williams; her children, James Bassette III and Shirley Smith; her grandson Sean A. Bassette; her sisters, Dorothy Hobbs and Catherine Lewis; and her nieces, Mary Lewis, Gloria Paugh and Debra H Farley.
She is survived by: her son Thomas Bassette (June); her grandchildren, Marcus A. Bassette, Sherena Hill, Mashamma Bassette, Richard Williams, Jammie Williams, Brandon Williams, Keisha Carson, Broderick Moss, Kodie Wright and Tiffany Hines; her nieces and nephews, Margaret Shahid (Zaman), Barbara Overby, Marion Adams, Gary Stevens (Lorraine), Timothy Hobbs, Gilbert Hobbs (Ruby), Rodney Hobbs (Gail), Sherman Lewis and Bernard Lewis; her great-nieces and great-nephews, Tara Fields, Waverly Fields and Michael I. Farley (Laverne); and her friend Dr. Douglas Peoples (Lavernia). She is also survived by great grandchildren, cousins, other relatives and friends.
